What is TAM?
The Academic Monographs
A mobile application on android (available for download worldwide on Google Play Store) designed to provide academic materials and resources for Scholars, Researchers and Students of tertiary institutions.
The Academic Monographs is another on-line mobile library for Scholars, Researchers, Authors and Students across the globe to access academic materials on-the-go and right at the comfort of their office, home, hostel, class rooms, and recreation centers, in a bus going home or coming to school.
The application also provides students access to lecture notes few days to the lecture. With this heads-up, the class becomes interactive for both the teacher and the students as they simply share opinions, position, and summations. One of the advantages is that the students prepare their minds and questions before the lecture.
To appreciate the Authors of these intellectual works in form of ROYALTY, the user of the mobile application (The Academic Monographs) is expected to pay a token fee per material/downloads. This token is to appreciate the authors who dedicated their time, effort and financial resources in ensuring such profound academic materials are available for public consumptions.
What is the Benefit of this mobile app to Researchers and Students?
Materials on the app “The Academic Monographs” are cheaper compared to making photocopies of the same material(s).
The app “The Academic Monographs” saves you the time of surfing the net in search of materials.
Materials on the app has been categorized into different discipline such as Law, Botany, Theatre Arts, Economics, English and Literary Studies, Computer science, Accounting etc making it easier to search.
Researcher and students have far-reaching access to materials from several scholars from different tertiary institutions.
Flexible and Portable
Researchers, especially students can access and read materials and lecture notes on-the-go and on their phone without moving around with multiple materials.
Users can read material(s) offline. The student saves more on data using the app. Unlike browsing the internet, the student can put-off their data after paying for the material and still be able to read the material(s).
WHAT IS MY BENEFIT AS AN AUTHOR?
- Articles are excellent medium to communicate ideas, hence; this mobile application provides more opportunity to reach a wider audience.
- Provides more avenues for authors to get their name out on the field, and build their academic reputation.
- Offers brand awareness about your research project
At the end of a calendar quarter (four months), TAM shall collate and pay to the Author/Contributor a nonrefundable fee of
- N20 per download for Article/Essays (N40.00 on the mobile platform). Due to charges from Interswitch and other payment system available on the platform.
- N350 per download for M.A. Dissertations (N500.00 on the platform) and
- N1, 400 per download for Ph.D. Thesis (N2, 000.00 on the platform).
The above Fee is an advance toward royalties that may become due during any calendar quarter. Lecture notes are free on the mobile platform.
IN CASES OF MEDICAL EMERGENCY, WHAT HAPPENS TO MY ROYALTY?
In cases of medical emergency, where a person is incapable (either legally because of age or mental infirmity, or because they are unconscious) of making decisions for themselves, all rights regarding inheritance from “The Academic Monographs” flows to the next of kin.
Details of the author’s “Next of Kin” are supplied through the agreement form (Contributor Release Form) to be filled by the author. (Request for the Contributor Release Form from any of our agents ‘08188929965’ or forward a mail to email@example.com)
HOW DO I MONITOR DOWNLOADS OF MY ACADEMIC MATERIALS?
Upon registration, a message containing a username and password is automatically sent to the author’s email account (you can change your password at your convenience). The author can then log-on using the “Author’s login page”, click “My Portal”. My portal is an option that provides details for every download per material.
Authors are able to monitor downloads of their academic materials on a DAILY, WEEKLY and MONTHLY basis. We usually advice you ask a friend, colleague or student to download a copy of your material on the platform, visit my portal for verification.
HOW PROTECTED IS MY ACADEMIC MATERIALS ON THE APP?
Basically, users have access to only the abstract or introductory part of any material on the platform to be sure the material is relevant to their course.
Once they are certain of the material(s) they are looking for, users can proceed to buy, by clicking on the material and selecting “Buy full article”. At the completion of a successful transaction, the full article(s) is automatically saved to a folder called “My Library” in the application, not on their phones. Users can then read the full material(s) by simply accessing “My library”.
Downloaded material(s) available in “My Library” cannot be copied, shared via Bluetooth, flash share, hotknot, slam or its equivalent. However, users can share only the abstract of any monograph on social media platforms such as Facebook, twitter, google+, whatsapp, BBM, BBM group, BBM channels.
As soon as a material is paid for, it becomes accessible offline on the platform. That is, users can access “my library” without data (subscription) on their phones. The student can close the app, off their data and reopen the app, go to “my library” to read their materials.
Downloaded material(s) available in “My Library” cannot be copied, share via Bluetooth, flash share, hotknot, slam or its equivalent. However, users can share only the abstract of any monograph on social media platforms such as Facebook, twitter, google+, whatsapp, BBM, BBM group, BBM channels.
HOW DO I UPLOAD MY ACADEMIC MATERIALS ON TAM?
Presently, authors are not allowed to upload materials directly; this is to prevent the uploading of substandard materials on the platform.
Categories of materials accepted on the platform includes: Articles/Essays, Masters Dissertation/Thesis, Ph.D. Thesis, Journals, and Lecture notes.
STEPS ON HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR MATERIALS
To upload your academic materials, first:
- Contact the admin on (08188929965 or 08089900284, firstname.lastname@example.org providing the following details: Full name, Institution/Occupation, Phone number, Active email account.
- A document called “CONTRIBUTOR RELEASE FORM” will be forwarded to the author.
- Fill and return the form to any of our representatives within your institution, or scan and send the documents to the email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Finally, forward the document to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org and your academic materials to an email account (see designated email account below) that will be forwarded to you alongside the contributor release form. Your materials will be published in less than five minutes.
These measures are also to ensure that all necessary documents are signed, to establish an understanding between both parties (Party A - TAM and Party B – Author).
